DEMONSTRATION 27th january 2014

Hi NAAG resident members and supporters,
Please all be aware of the topics being 'decided' by Cabinet at Town Hall meeting starting at 6:30pm on Monday 27th Jan 2014.
Your personal support is earnestly requested at a peaceful demonstration and rally at 5:30 pm outside the Town Hall and by your attendance at the meeting in the Public Gallery to hear directly how Cabinet discuss these Core Policy documents.
The attached link connects you to MBC website and the agenda for the next Cabinet Meeting.

Your united presence will make them aware just how important you think these Core Policy documents are to protect your future as local residents of the Maidstone Borough.
We have every reason to make our collective views known to the Cabinet Members at this important milestone date for the future management of the Maidstone Borough in general; and in particular the ultimate protection of our locally valued precious last Oasis of Green Space in Allington which includes irreplaceable Ancient Woodlands.
These long overdue documents are being launched for Public Consultation over the coming weeks, having been produced in isolation by MBC Planning Department and its chosen Consultants, many of whom do not live within the Borough and are unfamiliar with the real issues that residents face on a day to day basis.
To date our PUBLIC and RESIDENT views have not been requested, and the risk of being ignored remains high, despite the legal obligations on our local council to have engaged with us at the foundation stage.
There will be little or no protection for the things we treasure most from being devoured by a Housing development that will offend most of our existing residents Unless our consulted Allington Residents views, now so clearly stated in our representations to Planning Officers in response to Croudace Planning Application, are actually heard and firmly embodied within the Core Strategy, Local Plan and Transport Infrastructure Plan.
The consequences of this not happening will be irreversible.
Your lives and your living environment will be affected for all time.
We must clearly remind the Cabinet that the Public must be heard and not pushed aside in pursuit of an alternative unsupported political agenda.
Regards
Keith Young
NAAG Chairman
