We are not out of the Woods yet !!
The recent application was refused by both MBC and Tonbridge & Malling. Croudace will now go to Appeal because they firmly believe they will get a favourable decision from the Inspector because of the NPPF Regulations.  Now is the time for you to voice your opinion…..!  If we do not let Croudace know how we continue to feel about this development they will think we going to accept one of their schemes… VOICE YOUR OPINION

VISIT OUR NAAG's WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION

This leaflet from Barton Willmore is confusing.  (we hope you agree?)

As a resident in this area NEITHER scheme is acceptable.

Scheme 3 - confusion over no of houses - they propose to build 420 PLUS 80 = 500... NOT just 80 houses.
Access road between the fields will cut across the ancient woodland - causing irretrievable damage.

Scheme 2 - no of houses will be 420 built in reservoir field - this number needs to be reduced.
No infrastructure in place in this area to cope with either scheme.
Too much traffic will be generated by this development into Hermitage Lane.

Neither schemes even mention MBC's requirement of a country park… (this will also safe guard future development in the lower fields…)

Father Christmas and a human sized fox were at hand to help a local campaign group send a festive message to the council yesterday.

The duo joined the New Allington Action Group (NAAG) to drop off a greeting card that asked the borough council to oppose developments of Bluebell Woods and land neighbouring Hermitage Lane. MORE

Development decisions in Hermitage Lane (KM Nov 29th)  03-12-2013

NAAG's watches with interest potential development decisions in Hermitage Lane on ex nurses home site.
Application was deferred for 3 weeks at November's planning committee meeting to seek further advice on retaining the building.  Application due to go before committee on December 16th - why to go along and see for yourself how the planning system works ?
See you there?

HOW LONG WILL COUNCILS ACCEPT OBJECTIONS - WHEN IS THE REAL DEADLINE 26-11-2013

This is a FAQ that has been asked many times over the past few days...

Answer: Although a deadline was set by MBC as being 14th November that is not enforceable in law, it's merely a notional date that confirms their requirement to safeguard themselves from being able to set a planning committee meeting at a time that suits them and the developer  !!!!

In practice it is possible to add objections up to and including the day of, and at the committee meeting due date.

What that allows is for us NAAG supporters to continue to pump in information and further critiques of the plans.
Same is true for Tonbridge & Malling Council.

In Summary: Supports and residents can continue to write, even belatedly, to MBC and T&M Council with forceful objections and evidence to discredit the Developer's plans...

MBC Planning Meeting 21st Nov 2013 to decide on hospital carpark extension. We need your support!!!
19-11-2013

STOP PRESS:: Planning application 14/1434 to extend the Maidstone Hospital carpark and add an additional 67 parking spaces is to be decided on Thursday 21st November 2013 from 6pm at County Hall Maidstone.  This may have far reaching implications for us in setting a local precedence on the removal of yet more tree's in very close proximity to our Ancient Woodland Site in Allington.   If you could spare an hour of your time to come and show the Council that you care about what goes on in your backyard then we are meeting outside County Hall from 5:30pm.  We look forward to seeing as many supporters as possible.  (please tell us if you can make it)

Also of interest that is being discussed is the demolition of the old nurses home in Hermitage Lane to make way for another huge housing development…

Place:: County Hall ME14 1XQ
Time:: From 5:30pm

HELEN GRANT "PROTECT OUR BLUEBELL WOOD" HAS MY FULL ATTENTION
17-11-2013

5 years ago I made an election pledge to help protect our rural heritage in Maidstone & the Weald.

At the time the ‘No to KIG’ campaign was in full swing and I was pleased to give my support
(photo from the No to KIG Bearsted Green protest 04-09-2009).

More recently the Kent Messenger reported my active opposition to the expansion of quarrying in Oaken Wood.  Now the threat to Bluebell Wood, just north of Maidstone Hospital, has my full attention. READ MORE
