At this preliminary stage, the draft local plan is not robust enough to ensure the safety of the woods or limit the density of houses to a reasonable amount for our 'Land East of Hermitage Lane' site. Before the Secretary of State approves the Local Plan, it will undergo two Public Consultation periods, the first being 21st March to 7th May 2014. HAVE YOUR SAY! LOCAL ALLINGTON RESIDENTS can view and register comments and objections to the ‘Draft Local Plan’ at Maidstone Borough Council offices and local library if you can’t get online. From 21st March you can access MBC local plan pages at www.maidstone.gov.uk/residents/planning/local-plan/local-plan-progress
