Our ref TM/13/03147/OA Contact Robin Gilbert Direct line 01732 876241 Fax 01732 876363 email robin.gilbert@tmbc.gov.uk Date 16 July 2014 Dear Sir(s)/Madam, Outline Application: Mixed-use development comprising up to 500 residential dwellings (including affordable homes), land safeguarded for an education facility and land safeguarded for a community centre. Provision of public open space (inc. children's play areas) associated infrastructure and necessary demolition and earthworks. The formation of 2 no. new vehicular accesses from Hermitage Lane and Howard Drive. All other matters reserved at Land East Of Hermitage Lane Aylesford Kent - Application TM/13/03147/OA We recently wrote to you concerning the above application. This application is likely to be reported to Area 3 Planning Committee on 24 July 2014. As I explained in earlier correspondence, the Council allows speaking at Area Planning Committees by those persons who have made written comments in respect of the application, the relevant Parish or Town Council that has made written comments and the applicant or his agent. If you wish to speak, you will need to register your intention to do so. You may register at any time up to 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the Committee meeting but, in order to facilitate the effective management of the Committee’s business, I would encourage you to do so as soon as possible. You may do this by contacting Committee Services on 01732 876023 (email committee.services@tmbc.gov.uk, fax 01732 842170). When you register to speak, you are asked to indicate (for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998) whether you agree to your contact details being shared with others who may also register. This is to enable people who may wish to put forward similar views to contact each other and, if you wish, to put forward a single spokesperson. Before deciding whether you wish to speak at the Committee meeting, you may wish to read the report that is to be presented to the Committee Members. Copies are available for inspection at the Gibson Building five clear days before the date of the Committee meeting and at the Tonbridge Castle as soon as practicable thereafter. You can also see the Committee report via our website www.tmbc.gov.uk/view-planning-applications. Alternatively, copies may be obtained from Development Control Administration Support, telephone 01732 876318 or email planning.applications@tmbc.gov.uk. Each speaker is allowed a maximum of three minutes on each application for which they have registered. In order to avoid the repetition of presentations, you are encouraged to establish if the other persons who have indicated a wish to speak share your views – if so, it may be desirable to appoint a spokesperson. If there is a Parish or Town Council then that Council will have the right to speak. If you are the applicant, or his agent, and you wish to speak, you will normally speak after any other speakers. On the completion of public speaking, Councillors will then discuss the case. The meeting will be held at Kings Hill and will commence at 1930 hours. You should arrive a few minutes before this time and let the Committee Clerk know that you are listed to speak and the case that you wish to speak on. The Chairman will invite speakers to speak from a specific place in the room. You should vacate that position once the three minutes is up. If you are coming to a meeting at Kings Hill, please note that access to the Civic Suite is at the rear of the building – there is plentiful parking together with a disabled space close to the Civic Entrance. You should limit your comments to material planning issues. We gave you some advice on these in our earlier letters, and an explanatory leaflet is available from our offices. You may not ask any questions of the Committee. You are strongly advised to avoid making any defamatory statements. If you have any doubt about the comments that you wish to make you may wish to seek private legal advice. Please note that you will not be able to circulate any written material or photographs at the meeting. Yours faithfully
