Update 09/06/2016: following all your tremendous efforts we are pleased to inform you that we received over 200 replies from local residents. These were all immediately transmitted via email to the Croudace MD as they were sent by yourselves, but as a belt and braces approach a hardcopy was printed and sent first class post today to arrive on Allan Carey's desk tomorrow morning. We are all expecting a reply aren't we.... Watch this space? We sent an update letter out on the 24th May and have had a great response from many local residents together with a good turn out at the roadshow held at the Mid Kent Shopping Centre in Allington last weekend. All your support is really appreciated.

http://bit.ly/1Vh788W Re: Land East of Hermitage Lane & Bluebell Woods Dear Resident As you no doubt are aware the Government inspector delivered a devastating blow to Allington residents in October 2015 by permitting a total of 500 new homes to be built on our last piece of cherished land in West Kent. Just recently, Phase 1 of 186 dwellings has now proceeded to the outline planning approval stage and all residents may have received a letter from MBC through your door last week reference planning application 16/503641. (link to letter - or copy and paste this link: http://www.naag.kry4help.co.uk/16-503641.html) Please ensure you submit your response to this application by the closing date of the 9 June 2016 It is understood from the outcome of the appeal that the inspector made recommendation for access options 1-6 to be explored and considered in order to minimize the impact on fragmenting the ancient woodland. Option 6 suggests an alternative route which could save our beautiful woods from being cut in half and destroyed by having access via Maidstone hospital - IE no link road is required!!! In order to be more receptive of Croudace's future plans we as local residents feel strongly that the six options are seriously explored and particularly "option 6" is worthy of serious consideration to further examine the potential to avoid disturbing the ancient woodland. One last hope is that the Maidstone Hospital Trust are keen to talk to the developer to negotiate access or an initiative to abolish the need for a link road through the ancient woodland. The need for a link road through the ancient woodland is totally unnecessary and can be avoided altogether if access via the hospital gets the green light. MP Helen Grant, Maidstone Borough Council and NAAGs PREFER option 6
In order to minimise the impact to the woodland WE NEED YOU TO DELIVER A MESSAGE to the developer by the 9th June 2016. Please send a version of our pre-formed letter to Mr Carey, Croudace's Managing Director and Mr Russell Denness the Croudace Groups' CEO, which is aimed to make them aware how strongly we feel about saving our Ancient Bluebell Woods. CLICK HERE FOR ONINE OBJECTIONS Planning Applications 14/503735and 14/503786 submitted by Croudace for Land East of Hermitage Lane known as Bluebell Woods and the Reservoir Field. A big thank you to all who have signed petitions, attended rally’s, demos, sent objections to Naags, the Council, Croudace and Barton Willmore. Your input has been significant in saving ‘Bluebell Wood’ and has proved how important and valuable it is to local residents. Croudace are appealing the refusal in July and have submitted two new applications for a total of 500 houses with secondary access via Howard Drive. Full planning applications available online at MBC planning ref's: 14/503735 and 14/503786. This "apply - reject - appeal - reapply etc" approach by Croudace is standard practice to wear down opposition and 'play the game' with the NPPF and Local Plans. Naags are currently preparing a detailed submission on both Schemes 2 and 3. Maidstone Borough Council Scheme 2 Reservoir Field – App No. 14/503735 * 420 Houses including 3 storeys high * Bus and Emergency route via Howard Drive. Scheme 3 Hospital Field – App No 14/503786 This proposal is subject to Scheme 2 being approved. * 80 Houses including 3 storeys high * Access Rd through Ancient Woodland to Scheme 2 * Pedestrian/Cycle Path through Ancient Woodland Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council Access Hermitage Lane – App No 14/03290/OA MBC are dependent upon Tonbridge and Malling approving main access via Hermitage Lane Objection Deadline 7th November 2014 Both Schemes will result in increased traffic, congestion, pollution, deferred Healthcare appointments, loss of Ancient Woodland, the last Green Space available to local residents and there is no offer of a Country Park We urge you to object and make a difference to the community you live in. We would like to share with you some of the articulate comments we have received by local supporters over the past few days. We thank you for your time to participate at this important juncture and appreciate all your support. "Since moving to this area in 1968 and having seen many open green fields built on, this development must not be allowed as this is the last open area between Allington, Barming and West Malling.i totally agree with Maidstone and Tonbridge Council in refusing this development in any form." "We have previously submitted our objections and thoughts of any development on this site both to Maidstone District Council and to Tonbridge and Malling District Council. We are shocked at Croudace`s audacity to try and implement substitute plans 2 or 3 as a result of the original plan being refused by both councils. We want the land to be left free from any building development but would agree to the site being developed into parkland for the benefit of all the community. We hope any further appeal on behalf of Croudace will be rejected." "I totally oppose both of these building schemes due to the effects on local traffic, the environment, lack of availability to local people of houses which will be too expensive to buy anyway, loss of ancient woodland, loss of walking space, space to clear your head and forget about the stresses of the day." "I cannot even bring myself to waste my time writing comments on a scheme which disgusts me in every way possible. " "Ludicrous plans. All residents will oppose such idiocy." "I am in Canada on holiday, but still feel the need to still fight for this land. Leave our little bit of space alone." "We object to this proposal completely, the destruction of the only green belt between Allington and Aylesford, the destruction of woodland, access through Trevor Drive creating a speed rat run to the A20. The increased traffic and pollution on roads that are already gridlocked at peak times, and getting worse. " "This is a lovely open space well used for walking and it keeps Maidstone separate from Aylesford. Once green fields are built on they are lost forever, we need green areas for future generations. Hermitage Lane is already a very busy road and will cause real traffic congestion if more cars use the road." "You will ruin the Allington and Barming area. It is already over-populated for the facilities available including road network. We do not need social housing in an area already over populated. The impact on quality of life for current residents will be devastating. The increased pollution levels will be totally unacceptable. LEAVE THIS LAND ALONE YOU WILL RUIN OUR COMMUNITY!! " "If we don't protect areas like these from development we are ruining the future for our children and residents of Allington and surrounding areas. Once these green areas are swallowed by development they can never be reclaimed. Develop the run down abandoned areas and leave our green belt alone. The proposals are also unrealistic, give no where near enough space for car parking for the new occupants and are going to put more strain again on our roads and ourselves already stretched services" How totally organised would it be to have a pre-prepared letter to auto-email to Barton Willmore in response to their proposed schemes 2 & 3 as shown in their recent flyer posted through Allington Residents letterboxes? - fear no more, here is just what you have been looking for… but be quick the deadline is the 12th August 2014. click here Just complete the form ticking the statements to which you agree or feel strongly about and then add your details and click on the submit button. The recent application was refused by both MBC and Tonbridge & Malling. Croudace will now go to Appeal because they firmly believe they will get a favourable decision from the Inspector because of the NPPF Regulations. Now is the time for you to voice your opinion…..! If we do not let Croudace know how we continue to feel about this development they will think we going to accept one of their schemes… VOICE YOUR OPINION VISIT OUR NAAG's WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION This leaflet from Barton Willmore is confusing. (we hope you agree?) As a resident in this area NEITHER scheme is acceptable.
Scheme 3 - confusion over no of houses - they propose to build 420 PLUS 80 = 500... NOT just 80 houses. Access road between the fields will cut across the ancient woodland - causing irretrievable damage. Scheme 2 - no of houses will be 420 built in reservoir field - this number needs to be reduced. No infrastructure in place in this area to cope with either scheme. Too much traffic will be generated by this development into Hermitage Lane. Neither schemes even mention MBC's requirement of a country park… (this will also safe guard future development in the lower fields…) VISIT OUR NAAG's WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION TO RESPOND TO THIS LEAFLET WITH YOUR COMMENTS OF REJECTION - EMAIL RESEARCH@BARTONWILLMORE.CO.UK & MICHELE.GIBSON@BARTONWILLMORE.CO.UK or post a letter fao Andrew Wilford The Observatory Southfleet Road Ebbsfleet Dartford, Kent DA10 0DF Reminder that T&M Council's recommended refusal of planning application 13/03147 (that covers ACCESS TO Land East of Hermitage Lane) goes before committee on Thursday 24th July at 7:30pm at the Kings Hill Civic Centre. All those that are able to attend please do so and show your support, you may register to speak if you wish.. This is a very important aspect of the whole proposed development that could pivot on the outcome of this meeting. thank you…!

Our ref TM/13/03147/OA Contact Robin Gilbert Direct line 01732 876241 Fax 01732 876363 email robin.gilbert@tmbc.gov.uk Date 16 July 2014 Dear Sir(s)/Madam, Outline Application: Mixed-use development comprising up to 500 residential dwellings (including affordable homes), land safeguarded for an education facility and land safeguarded for a community centre. Provision of public open space (inc. children's play areas) associated infrastructure and necessary demolition and earthworks. The formation of 2 no. new vehicular accesses from Hermitage Lane and Howard Drive. All other matters reserved at Land East Of Hermitage Lane Aylesford Kent - Application TM/13/03147/OA We recently wrote to you concerning the above application. This application is likely to be reported to Area 3 Planning Committee on 24 July 2014. As I explained in earlier correspondence, the Council allows speaking at Area Planning Committees by those persons who have made written comments in respect of the application, the relevant Parish or Town Council that has made written comments and the applicant or his agent. If you wish to speak, you will need to register your intention to do so. You may register at any time up to 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the Committee meeting but, in order to facilitate the effective management of the Committee’s business, I would encourage you to do so as soon as possible. You may do this by contacting Committee Services on 01732 876023 (email committee.services@tmbc.gov.uk, fax 01732 842170). When you register to speak, you are asked to indicate (for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998) whether you agree to your contact details being shared with others who may also register. This is to enable people who may wish to put forward similar views to contact each other and, if you wish, to put forward a single spokesperson. Before deciding whether you wish to speak at the Committee meeting, you may wish to read the report that is to be presented to the Committee Members. Copies are available for inspection at the Gibson Building five clear days before the date of the Committee meeting and at the Tonbridge Castle as soon as practicable thereafter. You can also see the Committee report via our website www.tmbc.gov.uk/view-planning-applications. Alternatively, copies may be obtained from Development Control Administration Support, telephone 01732 876318 or email planning.applications@tmbc.gov.uk. Each speaker is allowed a maximum of three minutes on each application for which they have registered. In order to avoid the repetition of presentations, you are encouraged to establish if the other persons who have indicated a wish to speak share your views – if so, it may be desirable to appoint a spokesperson. If there is a Parish or Town Council then that Council will have the right to speak. If you are the applicant, or his agent, and you wish to speak, you will normally speak after any other speakers. On the completion of public speaking, Councillors will then discuss the case. The meeting will be held at Kings Hill and will commence at 1930 hours. You should arrive a few minutes before this time and let the Committee Clerk know that you are listed to speak and the case that you wish to speak on. The Chairman will invite speakers to speak from a specific place in the room. You should vacate that position once the three minutes is up. If you are coming to a meeting at Kings Hill, please note that access to the Civic Suite is at the rear of the building – there is plentiful parking together with a disabled space close to the Civic Entrance. You should limit your comments to material planning issues. We gave you some advice on these in our earlier letters, and an explanatory leaflet is available from our offices. You may not ask any questions of the Committee. You are strongly advised to avoid making any defamatory statements. If you have any doubt about the comments that you wish to make you may wish to seek private legal advice. Please note that you will not be able to circulate any written material or photographs at the meeting. Yours faithfully NAAG's article in this weeks Kent Messenger #KM highlighting the ongoing concern with the surveying works being conducted in Bluebell Wood on the instruction of Croudace following their planning application refusal. Maidstone Borough Council have also visited the site this week and put up TPO notices reminding the Land Owner it is an offence to touch protected tree's without consent and a £20,000 fine is imposed for those ignoring the rules… .
